Ethan + Laura | Coudersport, PA
Ethan and Laura were married on a hot May afternoon in Laura’s parents backyard nestled between the hills of Coudersport, Pennsylvania. They were surrounded by their daughter, immediate family, and a couple friends on what was honestly the perfect intimate wedding day. Because the wedding was on private land, Ethan was even able to sneak in some fly fishing while his bride was getting ready! I’ve said it before and I will say it again, intimate wedding’s are truly amazing; you can relax and enjoy your day, and still have all your perfect wedding moments.
Although one of the most important moments of the day for Laura was Ethan seeing her for the first time as she walked down the aisle, that didn’t mean that we didn’t get to have some amazing first looks with others! Laura had a first look with her dad, grandfather, AND daughter (Kara) and then we were even able to squeeze in a first look with Ethan and Kara as well! Although Laura’s dad’s reaction was amazing, I think we can all agree that Kara’s reaction to seeing her mom in her dress was one of the best moments of the whole day.
Once it was time for the ceremony, Laura’s grandpa walked her down the aisle, while her dad was waiting at the end of it to marry her to Ethan. I truly don’t know what is more special than getting married to the love of your life, by your parent, while in your childhood backyard. *Fun Fact: The arch that they were married under was made by Laura’s mom from the 1800s wood that built their original house.*
Another amazing thing about intimate weddings, which I know I have mentioned before, is that you can typically get an entire group photo of everyone who was in attendance. When creating the list of formal photos, I always encourage my couples to put this on there (as long as the total guest count is under 30ish).
After the ceremony, Laura, Ethan and I went to the Eliot Ness Museum downtown for some fun portraits. Every time we went to take a picture by a different vehicle, myself and the museum director were amazed at how amazing they both looked. In his words, “It looks like they just stepped out of the 1920s for this picture!” I’d have to agree with that statement. Special thanks to the whole Eliot Ness Museum crew for opening special for us to not only take some amazing portraits, but also to learn about Eliot!
Ethan, Laura, Kara, and the rest of their family ended their evening at the Hotel Crittenden where they had an relaxing reception dinner and cake.
